Covenant Statement

The purpose of CSTAT is to establish a network of Catholic Schools and parishes which will assist students, educators, and ministers in engaging in peace and justice activities. As an organized group of students, educators and advocates for social justice from across the Archdiocese of Cincinnati, CSTAT strives to support students in living the call of their faith to build just relationships which lead to a lasting peace.  The work of CSTAT is rooted in the principles of Catholic Social Teaching.  We are dedicated to providing opportunities that allow students and adults to grow in awareness of social justice issues through facilitating participation in meaningful and appropriate social action.

We are devoted to fostering cooperative unity among Catholic schools and parishes, and cultivating solidarity between all who yearn for justice. The Archdiocese of Cincinnati recognizes and supports the efforts of CSTAT and its member schools and parishes.

CSTAT Origins & History

The Catholic High Schools and parishes in the Archdiocese of Cincinnati have a long tradition of taking action for social justice as guided by the principles of Catholic Social Teaching. Catholic Students for Peace and Justice (CSPJ) formally originated among the Cleveland area Catholic schools in 2002, in collaboration with the Diocese of Cleveland. CSTAT—which is the Cincinnati Chapter—will help us to live out our institutional missions by inspiring collaborative action and shared resources in order to promote peace and justice.

CSTAT is orchestrated in collaboration with the following Offices of the Archdiocese of Cincinnati: Office of Youth & Young Adult Ministry, Catholic Social Action Office, Mission Office, and the Department of Educational Services.
